Seattle rocks! This month's History Café looks at rock music in Seattle with the EMP Museum's Senior Curator Jacob McMurray and Kathy Fennessy, who was the music director for KCMU (now KEXP) in the late 80s and early 90s.

Jacob McMurray is the senior curator at the EMP Museum, where he has organized over a dozen exhibitions, including Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses, Paper Scissors ROCK: 25 Years of Northwest Punk Poster Design and Jimi Hendrix: An Evolution of Sound. At various times in the past and present, he has been (or is) a curator, graphic designer, publisher, author, musician and occasionally other things.

Kathy Fennessy is a music and film writer for Amazon, The Stranger, Siffblog, and Video Librarian. She has also written for indieWIRE and The Seattle Weekly. Fennessy was the former Music Director of KCMU (now KEXP) from 1988-1991.
