KCTS 9 Educational Workshops: Language and Literacy: Storytelling Workshop
Using storytelling to develop language and literacy skills in children.
Besides reading books, where and when do you hear stories? Through stories we hand down our culture and values, and connect with friends and loved ones. This workshop focuses on using storytelling to develop a child's language and literacy skills. Participants learn how easy it is for anyone to become a storyteller. In this workshop, participants choose well-known storybook characters, and use homemade paper bag puppets to share a story.
