Downton Abbey Season 1: Remembering Our Introduction to The Crawleys

It doesn't seem that long ago that we were tuning in to meet the residents of Downton Abbey (and some of us even met them in Seattle at KCTS 9),  but here we are, four seasons later—preparing for a FIFTH season to air on this side of the pond in early 2015! KCTS 9 will be re-airing Downton Abbey Season 1 during Tea Time, starting Monday, October 13 at 3pm. Amie Simon gets us ready for the new season with a nostalgic look back at the very first time we laid eyes on The Crawleys and their staff.

America may have been dry during this season of Downton Abbey, but nothing was dry at Downton. Amie Simon reflects on some key moments and themes. Get your cocktail shakers ready! But never fear. Although it’s nearly 10 months until season five, we’ll continue posting new British drama blogs this spring. And be sure to read all the way through for a rousing roundup of all the new faces of season four. Bottoms up!

Blogger Amie Simon brings us our season finale recap... Say it ain't so! Look for Amie's season wrap-up (with cocktail suggestions!) next week.

How can Downton season four be over already? I feel like it just started! Last night’s 90-minute finale jumped ahead almost a year in the Crawley family’s life, and managed to wrap up almost everything—while still leaving us with a few mysteries to marinate on for next season!

A Desire of Suitors: Downton Abbey: Season 4, Episode 7

Anna and Baxter enjoy a light moment at the bazaar

Season four is almost over! Amie Simon recaps another remarkable episode of Downton Abbey:
Although this week’s episode of Downton answers the question about what to call the many men falling all over Lady Mary, viewers were still left hanging about a lot of other things, and it seems impossible that they’ll all get wrapped up by next week’s finale!

Deceptions and Revelations: Downton Abbey: Season 4, Episode 6

Robert bids adieu to Edith as he departs to America

This week’s Downton was a rollercoaster of ups and downs—and while I’m glad we saw some characters having a bit of fun, it made the lows others were having even harder to swallow.
