With the DTV Delay bill now signed into law, KCTS 9 and other TV stations in Seattle will continue analog broadcasts until June 12.
If you're watching KCTS 9 over the air with an antenna, you will need to either purchase a DTV converter box to connect to your analog TV, purchase a new (Digital) TV or subscribe to a pay service from cable or satellite.
You can also check out our DTV information page for additional help.
KCTS 9 is continuing to insert text-only messages twice per hour on our analog broadcast. These messages are being broadcast during programs at the top of the screen on our analog signal only.
If you are seeing these messages, it is because your TV is not digital capable or you are watching the analog channel. We have received several emails and calls from viewers that have new Digital TVs but are still seeing these messages. This is because Digital TVs have both digital and analog tuners in them - allowing you to watch both types of signals.
If you are using a Digital TV and you tune to KCTS 9 by pressing "9" on your remote, you will probably be watching the analog channel. To watch KCTS 9 digital you need to enter “9” “-“ “1” on your remote (some remotes have a period instead of a dash). This will tune to the KCTS 9 main digital program channel of 9-1.
Digital TV allows stations to program more than 1 channel and KCTS 9 has three channels. The other channels are 9-2 (V-me Spanish language) and 9-3 (Create PBS how-to shows).
