Ken Messer, General Manager

Ken Messer joined KYVE as the new General Manager in February 2008. Ken’s career in broadcasting spans 35 years including time as General Manager of KIMA/KEPR/KLEW TV (CBS) and KKFQ, now KUNW (Univision). In his position at KYVE 47, Ken has increased the station’s community exposure through meaningful outreach including local production and community events. A native of Yakima, Ken is deeply involved in the community-he is a current and active member of 10 community boards and former member of numerous more.

Rod Venable, Chief Engineer

Rod started at KYVE in 1988 as Chief engineer oversee all technical operations of the studio and transmitter locations. Before moving to Yakima Rod worked 7 years in commercial television as an engineer supervisor for both ABC and CBS affiliates. Rod’s hobbies include gardening, golfing, fishing, camping, motorcycles and hotrods.

Marlena Buchanan, Production & Special Events Director

Marlena joined the KYVE team in July 2009 as the Production Director. Marlena handles local marketing, production of local programming, underwriting and public service announcements, fundraising, events and social networking. Her background includes more than 10 years in the non-profit industry primarily in fund raising including various community and public-private partnerships around the Valley.

Marilee Sinclair, Business Manager

Marilee has been the Business Manager for KYVE since March 1996. She is the Mother of three and the Grandmother of two. Marilee and her husband like to travel and we have been to a few exotic locations.
