KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
I. Install, Maintain, Design

1. Install, maintain, and monitor broadcast and production equipment: master control, servers, editing systems, routing switchers, converters, monitoring, and test equipment
2. Create and maintain systems documentation
3. Collaborate with Engineering team to design broadcast and production systems
II. Maintain
1. Maintain broadcast recording, transmission, studio and field production equipment, and systems
2. Create and implement preventive maintenance schedules
3. Troubleshoot equipment and system malfunctions
4. Repair equipment and systems
5. Order and maintain inventory of supplies
III. Collaborate
1. Must be able to communicate effectively within the Engineering department and with other departments as necessary
2. Work with Communication Technician to support transmission
3. Work with Producers, Directors and Production Managers to identify technical production requirements
4. Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, manufacturers, contractors, and broadcasters
5. Train others to use broadcast audio/video and computer equipment and systems

QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES
1. AA degree in electronic technology from an accredited technical school or equivalent experience required
2. SBE Broadcast Engineer Certification for Audio Engineer (CEA), Video Engineer (CEV), Broadcast Television Engineer (CBTE) or higher preferred
3. Five years’ experience as television maintenance technician or equivalent required
4. Understanding of a broad range of computer operating systems, applications and hardware required
5. Working knowledge of video tape mechanical systems preferred
6. Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical fabrication techniques preferred
7. Project Management experience preferred
8. High power RF and CAD skills preferred
9. Ability to regularly type on a keyboard
10. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 30 pounds required
11. Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid Washington State drivers license
12. Ability to use a variety of hand tools, power tools and various machines
13. Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays
14. Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical fabrication techniques preferred
15. Regularly report to work as scheduled
