Purpose: Facilitate and maintain KCTS 9 Operations in an efficient, cost effective and safe manner to reach more people, build a great organization and increase our impact on the community
Department: Facilities
Division: Engineering
Reports to: Executive Director of Engineering and Technology
Status: Regular, Full-Time, Non-Exempt, Bargaining Unit

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


I. Assist Exec. Dir. of Engineering and Technical Planning
1. Operate, maintain and repair HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Lighting and Fire/Life Safety equipment
2. Add, modify, delete AMAG card access and security system data 
3. Move and reconfigure department furnishings and modular office systems
4. Patch/paint and cosmetically repair interior and exterior of the building
5. Pick-up and deliver parts and materials
6. Provide set-up and take down for productions and special events as needed


II. Maintain a Safe and Secure Environment
1. Maintain and secure the building and outside perimeter and communicate any safety issues to Exec. Dir. of Engineering and Technology
2. Maintain and inspect fire suppression systems weekly to ensure sprinklers and fire extinguishers are operational at all times
3. Maintain and order station medical/first aid kits and supplies
4. Serve as member of Safety Committee
5. Comply with OSHA and WISHA requirements; stay current with regulations


III. Collaborate
1. Act as a liaison between KCTS 9 departments and vendors to facilitate effective operations
2. Move and change Network/Phone lines in collaboration with IT
3. Work with Front Desk to maintain  ID badges and key cards process
4. Perform shipping and receiving processes as needed
5. Conduct research for new vendors and supplies as needed
6. Engage outside vendors to ensure office and mail machines operate properly
IV. Administer
1. Maintain inventory of building janitorial, landscape and maintenance supplies
2.  Deliver incoming and outgoing freight to and from the warehouse
3. Maintain and repair station vehicles

QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES
1. High school graduate or GED required
2. Two years’ experience in building maintenance and repair, including experience with all aspects of facility maintenance(plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, fire systems) and safety regulations
3. Communications equipment and building automation experience preferred
4. Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid Washington State drivers license and must possess a safe driving record
5. Strong organizational and customer service skills required
6. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and MS Office applications
7. Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds unassisted
8. Ability to climb, twist, bend, kneel, crawl and reach above head required
9. Ability to safely use a variety of hand tools, power tools and various machines
10. Ability to work in a confined space, noisy, and a wide variety of environments
11. Ability to work some evenings, weekends, holidays and on-call shifts and to respond to emergencies when necessary
12. Regularly report to work as scheduled
